Breaking Arrowverse news overnight. Warner Bros. TV has confirmed the casting of God Friended Me star Javicia Leslie as the brand new Batwoman.
Leslie will debut in season 2 of Batwoman on The CW when the series returns in January 2021. She takes on the brand new role of Ryan Wilder, taking over from Ruby Rose who exited the series at the end of season one.
“I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community,” Leslie said in a statement.

Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman. The series co-stars Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang and Rachel Skarsten.
