Finally, after weeks of reporting production delays, we finally have some good news from Hollywood. It’s been confirmed by a rep for Universal that Jurassic World: Dominion is gearing up to return to production.
Cameras are preparing to roll at London’s Pinewood Studios, the legendary home to Hollywood productions here in the UK. Speaking to Deadline, the Universal rep laid out details of just how the film will be able to get back to work:
“Anyone with symptoms will be isolated immediately before being sent home. We want to make sure that we are going above and beyond the national protocols to create a safe environment. Cost isn’t our main concern now: it’s safety. We will take direction from our medical team, but we’re confident that with the staggered scheduling and zones of talent and crew, along with a system of contact tracing, we can move forward with limited delay in production.”
It’s been reported that around $5M is being spent on measures to allow the crew to return to work. This includes hand sanitiser stations, engaging a private medical facility, crew testing and extra cleaning for all areas of production.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, and Dichen Lachman. Original franchise stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are also set to return.
