The CW set to introduce a new character as new BATWOMAN

Batwoman (The CW/Warner Bros.)

Overnight, an interesting new rumour has surfaced in regards to The CW’s search for a new Batwoman. With Ruby Rose recently exiting the role it was presumed the network would recast the role for season two. However, new casting sides seem to indicate the network is going in a different direction.

New casting sides, confirmed to be legit by THR, describe a brand new character called Ryan Wilder. Whilst this could be a placeholder name Ryan appears to be, in-part, a reaction to audience criticism of Kate.

The character is described as “likable, messy, a little goofy and untamed. She’s also nothing like Kate Kane, the woman who wore the batsuit before her.”

“With no one in her life to keep her on track, Ryan spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. A girl who would steal milk for an alley cat could also kill you with her bare hands, Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly undisciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible. And very much not your stereotypical All-American hero.”

Now do you feel about a new character taking on the role of Batwoman?

Batwoman season one stars Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman. The series co-stars Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang and Rachel Skarsten.
