Exciting news for fans of the Percy Jackson books today. Author Rick Riordan has appeared on social media, alongside his wife Becky, to confirm that Disney+ is bringing the franchise to the small screen.
The series was previously adapted in to two big screen movies starring Logan Lerman. Both were released to mixed responses from fans and critics but now the author is taking control.

It is expected that the Disney+ series will adapt each of the five books in to an individual season with the first focussing on the first book The Lightning Thief.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians focusses on the titular Percy Jackson, a young man who learns that he is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the Sea, and his various adventures at Camp Half-Blood, a training ground for demigods.
