The upcoming Justice League Dark: Apokolips War will serve as a poignant bookend to the continuity of the DC Animated Universe which dates back all the way back to 2014’s Justice League: War.
Following that film’s release this month will be Superman: Man of Tomorrow, a brand new look at the Man of Steel featuring a brand new cast and a brand new art style.
Below you can get your first look at Super and his arch nemesis Lex Luthor thanks to this new still released by EW.
The story follows a young Clark Kent (Darren Criss) who is interning at the Daily Planet and learning the ropes as Superman. He will be called upon to save the city of Metropolis from a series of major threats including Lex Luthor (Zachary Quinto), Parasite (Ryan Hurst) and Lobo (Brett Dalton).
Darren Criss (Glee) is taking on voicing the Man of Steel alongside Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) as Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario (True Detective) as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Lobo, Ryan Hurst (The Walking Dead) as Parasite, Ike Amadi (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) as Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn (Scrubs; Mean Girls) as Jonathan Kent, and Bellamy Young (Scandal) as Martha Kent.
Chris Palmer (Voltron: Legendary Defender) is directing the film from a screenplay by Tim Sheridan (The Death of Superman; Reign of the Supermen).
No release date has been set for Superman: Man of Tomorrow as yet, but it is expected to hit digital platforms, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD in summer 2020.
