Disney reveals that THE MANDALORIAN has been renewed for a third season

Some great news for Star Wars fans and Disney+ subscribers today as it has been revealed that The Mandalorian will be returning for a third season in the near future.

Variety is reporting that series creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while,” with pre-production on a third batch of episodes well underway. The trade is reporting that production designers began working, remotely, on sets for the upcoming season as recently as yesterday,

It is believed that season 2 of The Mandalorian had wrapped principal photography before lockdown. The show presumably remains in a slow post-production schedule as visual effects artists work from home in isolation.

Written by Iron Man‘s Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series debuts new episodes weekly on Disney+.
