Production on Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is currently hurtling towards its conclusion but there’s still very little that we know about the upcoming series.
Marvel Studios has keeping the series under a similar lockdown to its big screen projects so, for now, it seems we’ll need to wait until the series’ Summer debut to find out exactly what the studio has in store for these two characters.
Whilst promoting the second season of Netflix’s Altered Carbon, star Anthony Mackie sat down with Extra for an interview and talk inevitably turned to all things Marvel.
Mackie was asked if former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nicky Fury would be returning from outer space to which he replied “I hope so.” Mackie went on to say: “I heard Falcon becomes Sam Jackson, that’s what I heard, so that’s what I’m hoping for. We ain’t finished shooting yet, so I hope he just show up one day and bless us with his presence.”
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set to debut on Disney+ in August 2020. The six-part limited series will be directed by Kari Skogland and stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. Emily VanCamp returns as Sharon Carter alongside Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/USAgent.
