A new report from Variety suggests that the long gestating Indiana Jones 5 is undergoing a change in management. It seems that original director Steven Spielberg is stepping aside and Logan‘s James Mangold has stepped in to the frame as a potential replacement.
The trade reports that negotiations with Mangold are currently in the “early stages” but that Spielberg’s decision to step-down was entirely his own.
Spielberg has directed all four previous entries in the franchise including the critically maligned Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which was released in 2008.
How do you feel about a new director taking on Indy for his latest (and last?) adventure?
