This week see’s Joker arrive on home video here in the UK, the Warner Bros. film is also celebrating a double win at Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony in the US.
On the red carpet at The Oscars MTV News spoke with actress Zazie Beetz about whether she would be open to returning to Todd Phillips bleak DC landscape for a sequel.
“I don’t know if it needs one,” said Beetz. “There is a lot of strength in not milking something. Honestly, I feel like Todd would be the person to [make a sequel] tastefully. If he felt it needed one. I really trust him. He’s really creative and smart. So sure.”

Phillips directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with writer Scott Silver, based on characters from DC. The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It is executive produced by Richard Baratta, Joseph Garner and Bruce Berman.
The film stars Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, also starring are Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
