With the release of Sonic the Hedgehog coming this Valentines Day, Paramount pictures are ready to get fans pumped for Sonic’s big screen debut.
Sonic the Hedgehog follows our iconic blue friend who finds himself on Earth. Sonic and his new friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey).
Partnering with Snapchat, Paramount Pictures are looking to bring multiple iconic landmarks to life. London’s Tower Bridge, the Natural History Museum and several other sites will be brought to life through the magic of Augmented Reality (AR) Landmarker Lens.
Through the gamified AR lens, Snapchatters will be tasked to gather as many golden rings as possible before Sonic appears.
After his appearance at the Natural History Museum, Sonic will speedily make his way to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Then onto the Brandenburg Gate in Germany. Sonic will then make his way to the U.S, visiting the Flatiron Building and the Chinese Theatre.
In the upcoming days, the Landmarker lens will also run through to Egypt.

If you can’t get to any of the above, Snapchat also has a Dr. Robotnik face filter for you to play with. Fans will also be able to watch videos and book tickets to see Sonic in cinemas.
Check out the trailer for the live-action adventure based on Sega’s popular videogame franchise. Despite the original design sparking fear into all of our hearts, I’m actually quite excited to see what this film brings.
