Towards the end of 2019 it was announced that J.J. Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot, had signed a development deal with Warner Bros.

At the time many wondered if the acclaimed director was building towards bringing his own vision for the Man of Steel to the big screen. But a new rumour from Deadline reports that Abrams and Bad Robot may looking to a different DC Comics property for inspiration.

According to the trade, there are a number of movie and TV shows based on the characters Justice League Dark in early development. The report doesn’t give any specifics, but it is understood that Bad Robot’s Head of Motion Pictures Hannah Minghella and Head of Television Ben Stephenson are expected to begin meeting with industry talent to define a number of projects in the near future.

Featuring hugely popular characters like Constantine and Zatanna, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. wants to work on bringing them to the big screen.
