Following the announcement of a renewal for season 2, news has been very quite on Amazon Prime’s upcoming Lord of the Ring TV series.
Quietly we’ve heard that We’re The Millers actor Will Poulter is no longer involved with the project which, according to THR, was due to scheduling conflicts following the decision to take a break in filming after the pilot episodes.
Now Variety is reporting that the series has cast Dracula actress Morfydd Clark as a young Galadriel. The character was portrayed in the films by Cate Blanchett. This news marks the first major character from the books (and films) to be cast in the series.
No release date has been set for the series as yet.
