Godzilla vs. Kong has been sitting on the Warner Bros. release slate for a while now. Having completed production some months ago the film is set to be the fourth entry in to the growing universe of monsters which rapidly expanded during Godzilla: King of the Monsters earlier this year.
The film was due to arrive in cinemas in March of 2020 but Warner has now confirmed the film will shift back eight months to November 20, 2020.
No official reason for the delay has been given with some experts commenting that the lacklustre response to King of Monsters has forced WB to make changes to the film.
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
The sequel to 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir, Zhang Ziyi, Van Marten and Lance Reddick.
