Basketful of Heads #1 Sells Out
Launch Title for DC’s Hill House Comics Goes Back to Print
Basketful of Heads, the premiere series in DC’s Hill House Comics imprint, is a certified horror hit, with issue #1 completely sold out! As a result, Basketful of Heads #1, from writer Joe Hill and artist Leomacs, will return to press for a second printing featuring a recolored version of the original cover by Reiko Murakami, with an on-sale date of December 11.
Kicking off the Hill House Comics pop-up curated by horror superstar Joe Hill, Basketful of Heads tells the story of June Branch, a young woman trapped with the four criminals who kidnapped her boyfriend—fighting for her life with the help of an eighth-century Viking axe that can pass through a man’s neck in a single swipe and leave the severed head still conscious. A serialized monthly comic, Basketful of Heads #2 will hit shelves Wednesday November 27 and Basketful of Heads #3 will hit shelves December 18.
The second Hill House Comics series, The Dollhouse Family by M.R. Carey, Peter Gross, and Vince Locke, debuted on November 13 to praise from fans and critics alike. Hill House Comics continues on December 18 with The Low, Low Woods #1 from writer Carmen Maria Machado and artist Dani.
In 2020, Hill House Comics debuts Daphne Byrne, written by Laura Marks and illustrated by Kelley Jones, and Plunge, by Joe Hill and Stuart Immonen, to round out the five Hill House Comics launches. Each Hill House Comics release contains a chapter of the serialized Sea Dogs backup tale, written Joe Hill with art by Dan McDaid.
