Earlier this week it was revealed that Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were exiting their deal with Disney to work on a trilogy of Star Wars films.
Now various trades are beginning to reported rumoured details on what the pairs version of the universe world have looked like.
According to Variety the pair were looking to step away from established mythology and instead explore “how the Jedi came to exist.” The trade understands their vision didn’t sit well with Lucasfilm execs and that this may have been a contributing factor to their exit.
In a separate report, THR discusses rumours that the due have been apprehensive about taking on another huge franchise following the reaction to the final season of Game of Thrones. Given the toxic reaction that seems like a fair assumption to make.
Whilst they won’t be working in a galaxy far, far away any time soon the pair will be working hard on their new deal with Netflix to create original content for the streaming giant.
