Marvel Studios has come under fire recently from some of Hollywoods legendary creative. The entire comic book movie genre has found itself on the sharp end of comments from Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola who have chosen to deride the genre as “Despicable”.
Speaking with CNBC during the promotional tour for upcoming Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, Favreau was asked about the comments and had this to say.
“These two guys are my heroes, and they have earned the right to express their opinions,” Favreau said. “I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing if they didn’t carve the way. They served as a source of inspiration, you can go all the way back to Swingers…. They can express whatever opinion they like.”
As well as his upcoming work in Star Wars fans will remember that Favreau directed and appeared in Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Do you agree with his comments?
