We’re still around two years away from the release of Jurassic World 3, the follow-up to 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But that doesn’t mean Universal Pictures doesn’t have something to keep fans going in the meantime.
With work continuing on Camp Cretaceous, the upcoming Netflix animated series, a new live-action short film has been announced for release this week.
Battle at Big Rock: A Jurassic World Short Film is set to debut on FX on Sunday, September 15 in North America. It will be made available online shortly afterwards.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but we know the short features a cast that includes André Holland (High Flying Bird), Natalie Martinez (Death Race), Melody Hurd (Fatherhood) and Pierson Salvador (Gotham).
Jurassic World‘s Colin Trevorrow directed the short film, based on a script from Jurassic World 3 co-writer Emily Carmichael. We understand that Larry Fong (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) acted as cinematographer whilst Amie Doherty (Legion) is scoring the project.
