Director Andy Muschietti is currently on the promo tour for this week’s IT: Chapter 2 release. But with rumours circulating that Muschietti is taking over directing duties on The Flash talk is regularly turning to the long-gestating DC Films release.
Speaking with Fandango Muschietti finally confirmed his involvement putting an end to speculation. In doing so he also confirmed that The Flash will be his next directorial project.
Of course given his background Muschietti was asked if he would be bringing a horror vibe to the Scarlet Speedster.
“An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” he exclaimed. “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”
The Flash is currently without a release date but we understand that prep work is due to begin early in 2020 for a Spring/Summer shoot.
