The excellent first season of Amazon Prime’s new fantasy crime series Carnival Row is available from today!

Starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne the first season consists of eight-episodes and you can read our review of episodes 1-4 here.

Legendary Comics has announced two prequel comics, From the Dark and Sparrowhawk, both of which introduce viewers to the two leads and their backstories.

The even better news? Both comics are free to buy on Comixology until September 4. You can pickup your copies here.

From the Dark is written by C.M. Landrus and Charles Velasquez-Witoksy, with a story by Travis Beacham, Marc Guggenheim, Kai Wu, Georgia Lee, Marc Bernadin and Stephanie Smith. Harvey M. Tolibao with HMT Studios’ Tristan Jurolan and Jhun Mar Tadong Entico provided illustrations, with colors by HMT Studios’ Kevin Tolibao and Kevin Anthony de Castro. According to the story synopsis,

From the Dark follows Rycroft Philostrate as he adjusts to his life in The Burgue, and the memories of his former life intertwine with a mystery that will take him through the strange city streets that he now calls home. A recent bomb attack has only intensified the situation. Can he find the people responsible before there is another explosion?

Sparrowhawk is written by Jordan Crair, with story by Travis Beacham, Marc Guggenheim, Kai Wu, Georgia Lee, Marc Bernadin and Stephanie Smith, art by Giorgia Sposito and colors by Triona Farrell. According to the description,

Sparrowhawk features Vignette and her fellow Fae, who after finding their homeland under attack, must fight and sacrifice in order to reach safety. Mythical powers only count for so much, when the other side has them too. Will they find the refuge they are looking for or does an even bigger threat wait for them?

Carnival Row stars Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom. Co-starring are  David Gyasi, Tamzin Merchant, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Artemas Froushan, Carolien Ford, Indira Varma, Jared Harris and SImon McBurnery.

Carnival Row will be available to watch now in more than 200 countries, with dubbed versions coming in late November 2019.
