Rey goes dark in new STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER D23 tease

In case you missed it: Lucasfilm debuted an intense new look at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at the D23 convention over the weekend.

The teaser shows plenty of footage from across the franchise culminating in new looks at the main cast in this years upcoming movie. In the new footage we see the assembled cast on a new, desert planet and what appears to be a really intense lightsaber duel between Rey and Kylo Ren.

But it’s the final shots of the teaser which have people talking as it appears Rey may be going to the dark side! Check out the D23 teaser in the player below.

The film will see the return of Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), and Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix).

Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) will also all return to reprise their iconic roles from previous films.

The late Carrie Fisher will appear via previously unreleased archive footage.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
