Last night, whilst we were all asleep, an old rumour resurfaced and set the internet alight. It seemed once again that Ewan McGregor was in talks to return to the world of Star Wars.
Many months ago rumours were circling that McGregor would be returning for an Obi-Wan Kenobi entry into the … A Star Wars Story franchise. But is that still the case?
In the early hours of this morning Deadline was able to confirm that McGregor has indeed signed on to return but not in the way we expected.
It now seems that Obi-Wan will crop up in a Star Wars TV series on the upcoming Disney+ streaming platform. No news yet on whether this is a series focussing on the character or as part of an ensemble elsewhere.
McGregor first appeared in the role in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and continued to play the role through the three prequel moves in the 00’s. Are you excited to see him return to the role?
