The Academy of Scoring Arts hosted, what they called, a “score study” of John Williams’ Jurassic Park soundtrack, probably one of his most iconic themes. While Jurassic Park was the primary focus, Williams’ brother, Don Williams, revealed some interesting details concerning the last installment in Skywalker saga; The Rise of Skywalker.
During the discussion, Don revealed that John Williams currently has “135 minutes worth of music to write, so that kind of tells how long the film is”.
He also shared:
“We’ve done four days and we just scratched the surface. I think we’ve got something like 34 minutes in the canon at this point.”
While this doesn’t reveal the final runtime, it is a good indication. Especially when you consider that The Force Awakens was 2 hours and 15 minutes and The Last Jedi was slightly longer at 2 hours and 33 minutes. With just the music alone, The Rise of Skywalker is looking to be, at least, 2 hours 15 minutes, potentially longer since it is the final installment.
How long do you think The Rise of Skywalker will be? Let us know in the comments!
The final installment in the Skywalker saga is due out in theaters in December this year.
