The saga of Colton Haynes return for the final season of Arrow has been generating a lot of headlines across the web.
In an interview with TVLine, Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz said “we hope to have [Haynes] back” during the TCA Press Tour. Haynes’ comments also seem to leave the door open for his return.
Haynes first joined the series late in its first season, and appeared as a series regular for seasons 2 and 3. Haynes made guest appearances in seasons 4 and 6 before returning for a longer arc in season 7.
It seems that in the wake of Schwartz comments Haynes has had a lot of interactions with fans regarding his return. In response the actor made the below statement on Twitter regarding his status on the show:
“Getting a lot of angry messages so just to clarify…I didn’t exit the last season of Arrow. I was not asked to come back for the final season as a series regular. But y’all know Roy…he’s never gone for too long”https://twitter.com/ColtonLHaynes/status/1159550976543510529
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren. Season 7 will see the return of Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal.
Arrow airs on The CW Mondays at 8/7c. In the UK the show airs on Sky One on Thursdays at 9pm.
