Sporting some major hype from the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, the Adam Egypt Mortimer film Daniel Isn’t Real has finally revealed it’s first trailer, and also it’s the official release date.
The Patrick Schwarzenegger film will have a limited run in theatres beginning December 6th, while also releasing on VOD same day.
It was also revealed that the movie will stream exclusively on horror streaming platform Shudder at a later date, however, no official date was given for this.
From the producers of Mandy, the film looks like a potential mind-fuck in the making, sporting a hypnotic score in the trailer alone, and some intense looking visuals.
Daniel Isn’t Real follows troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) after he suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind, and his soul.
The film will also star Hannah Marks, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Sasha Lane.
