The first trailer for Netflix’s highly anticipated show, The Witcher, was released at San Diego Comic-Con and we can barely contain our excitement. It looks fantastic.
The new series will be an adaptation of the series of novels written by Andrzej Sapowski. The series contains 7 books:
- The Last Wish (1993)
- Sword of Destiny (1992)
- Blood of Elves (1994)
- Time of Contempt (1995)
- Baptism of Fire (1996)
- The Tower of the Swallow (1997)
- The Lady of the Lake (1999)
- Season of Storms (2013)
Of course, the book series was also adapted into an incredibly popular video game series, which I am currently playing.
The show follows a Witcher known as Geralt of Rivia, who is a monster-hunter with magical abilities that basically make him the perfect weapon.
As we wait for more information, including a release date, here is a run down of the cast before you watch the epic trailer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KlNosLciNwWhile no release date has officially been confirmed, Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer of Netflix, confirmed that the show will arrive in the “Fourth Quarter” of 2019. This would suggest a release date of October through to December.
