Last night The Walking Dead held its annual San Diego Comic Con panel in the hallowed Hall H. During the panel cast member Danai Gurira – Michonne – bid farewell to the series by confirming season 10 will be her last.
“I’d just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life, to play this role, and to be amongst these people and those that are not here right now and amongst all of you,” she told fans in attendance. “I’m very, very thankful for the experience I’ve had in ways that I can’t even express right now. My heart does not leave in any way shape or form.”
But it wasn’t all bad news for the veteran AMC series. It has been confirmed that Universal Pictures has backed the previously announced Rick Grimes TV movie which has now gained itself a theatrical release.
Back on the small screen the assembled cast and creatives debuted the first trailer for season 10 which debuts in North America on October 7. Check it out in the player below.
The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Amelio, Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, Khary Payton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
