Mehcad Brooks to leave SUPERGIRL in season 5, Jeremy Jordan returning

Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl - Warner Bros.)

Ahead of tonight’s DCTV panel at San Diego Comic Con we’ve got some casting news for the upcoming fifth season of Supergirl.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Brooks will exit the series sometime during the first half of season 5. He is said to be leaving at his own request in order to focus on furthering his feature film career and has several other projects in development.

Speaking of Brooks in a statement showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said: “We love Mehcad and we’re sad to see him leave the show as a series regular, but we’re excited for both Mehcad and James Olsen’s future. He’ll always be a part of our Supergirl family and we look forward to James returning to National City at some point to visit his sister and his super friends.”

But as one friend leaves another returns. Jeremy Jordan has confirmed he will be returning for a three episode arc as Winn Schott during the upcoming season.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines and Chyler Leigh. The series airs on The CW in North America, Sundays at 8/7c.
