Jon Favreau’s The Lion King is weeks away and we can barely contain our excitement. Considering the mixed response for the majority of the live action adaptations, Favreau’s The Jungle Book seemed to bring a glimmer of hope for future adaptations.
No matter what your thoughts of Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin were I think we can all agree that The Lion King is looking to be incredibly special, especially since the animation is one of those Disney films that has stayed in the hearts of many fans. In one way, there should be a greater deal of anxiety surrounding The Lion King since it is held in such a high regard, perhaps even untouchable, however all I have seen on the internet and in person is excitement.
With its release date looming, Disney have released more wonderful posters for us.

And to top it off we got our first good listen to one of the songs that will feature in the movie.
‘Can you Feel the Love Tonight’ is being sung by the wonderful Beyoncé who is, of course, voicing Nala, and Donald Glover who will be voicing a grown up Simba. Despite it being only a few seconds long it has gotten fans excited and wanting more.
The song I am most looking forward to is the Circle of Life, I cannot wait to hear how that will be re-imagined in the first few minutes of the film. Prepare to be hit with a tonne of nostalgia within the first 5 minutes.
What are you looking forward to the most in Jon Favreau’s The Lion King?
The Lion King is due out on the 19th July 2019.
