Mark Hamill is currently doing promo for the release of Child’s Play which hits cinemas today. But of course the actor cannot meet with the press without being asked about his status in the Star Wars universe.
Appearing at a red carpet event Hamill not only confirmed that he will be returning for this year’s The Rise of Skywalker but he also entirely gives away how he will return… like we couldn’t have guessed it already!
“I had closure in the last one” said Hamill, referring to Luke’s death in The Last Jedi. “The fact that I’m involved in any capacity is only becuase of that peculiar aspect of the Star Wars mythology where if you’re a Jedi you get to come back and make a curtain call as a Force Ghost.”

The film will see the return of Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), and Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix).
Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) will also all return to reprise their iconic roles from previous films.
The late Carrie Fisher will appear via previously unreleased archive footage.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
