Disney announces new, original Pixar movie SOUL for summer 2020

Soul (Disney/Pixar)

Late yesterday Disney and partners Pixar announced a new, original movie which is due for release during summer 2020.

Little is known about Soul at this stage. A short statement on the reveal included some details on the movie. “Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you … you?”

Soul is directed by two-time Oscar winner Pete Docter (UpInside Out). Doctor has been acting as Pixar’s chief creative officer following the exit of former creative head John Lasseter.

Soul will be the second of two original Pixar animated movies to release in 2020. Soul will follow Onward which stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as a pair of elves in a suburban fantasy world. That movie hits cinemas on March 6, 2020.

Soul is set for release on June 19, 2020.
