Aquaman director Jams Wan was initially tipped to direct the pilot of Swamp Thing. Though he still retains an executive producer credit on the series he took a step back from directing to allow Len Wiseman to helm the series opener.
With Swamp Thing looking unlikely to produce new episodes beyond its first season Wan has now waded in on the heated debate as to its future.
“Don’t really know or understand why #Swampthing was cancelled, but I can tell you this — all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this,” Wan wrote in a post on Instagram. “Really proud of everyone’s hard work. Go watch episode 2, and immortalize these 10 episodes. Swampy deserves it.”
