Netflix has announced that is is renewing Lucifer for a fifth and final season.
Based on the Vertigo character of the same name created by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg and Sam Kieth, Lucifer debuted on Fox back in 2016. After three seasons the series was cancelled by FOX, only to be saved by Netflix.
Season 4 premiered on the streaming giant just last month.

Speaking of the renewal Netflix said: “We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for.”
“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” said executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson. “Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!”
Star Tom Ellis also appeared in a video shared by the official Lucifer twitter profile. In the video Ellis screams with joy at the renewal before telling fans “I’ll see you in hell!”

Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, and Aimee Garcia. The series comes from Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich.
