Sad news for Image Comics fans this morning as Deadline is reporting that SYFY has announced it is cancelling both Deadly Class and Happy!.
Both series have struggled in with their rating this season though it is understood they will be shopped to other networks and streaming platforms for potential renewals.
Deadly Class is based on the ongoing series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. The series followed Marcus, an orphan in the 1980s Bay Area who gets recruited into a secret private school for assassins. The series was executive produced by Remember alongside longtime Marvel Studios directors Joe and Anthony Russo.
Deadly Class stars Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval.
Happy! comes from the mind of Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s and followed a wounded hitman pursued by the police and the mob. Gravely wounded, he hallucinates a cartoon unicorn following him through New York City, voiced by Patton Oswalt.
Happy!‘s second season starred Christopher Meloni, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Fischler, Ritchie Coster, Lili Mirojnick, Medina Senghore, Christopher Fitzgerald and Bryce Lorenzo.
