When Carol Danvers showed up to meet the Avengers in the end credit scene of Captain Marvel fans noticed she was looking a little different. Equally the brief shots from the below clip from Avengers: Endgame shown in promo trailers also show off a more glamorous looking Carol.
Fans have been picking up on this and /Film went as far as to ask co-director Joe Russo as to why Carol glammed up in her twenty years off-world.
Speaking of the changes Russo had a very logical explanation:
“She [filmed Avengers: Endgame] before she filmed Captain Marvel, and I think she was experimenting with what the character was. And those were the choices that she and her hair and makeup team had made. And I think as she started to gain a deeper understanding of the character, especially as she approached her own movie. She started to make different choices and as an artist she should be afforded that right to make whatever choice that she wants to make.”
Whilst the fact Brie Larson wore more makeup in Endgame is in no way headline worthy it’s interesting that her first scenes as the character were shot for that movie and not her solo debut.
