The cast of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has been growing at a rapid pace over the last few weeks. With many of the major players now in place there’s still the odd announcement left to make.

According to THR, Chang Chen (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) will play House Atreides’ trusted physician, Doctor Wellington Yueh, who has been imperially conditioned so that he is incapable of causing harm.

Chen joins a huge ensemble cast lead by Timothee Chalament, Javier Bardem and Zendaya.

In the year 10191, a spice called melange is the most valuable substance known in the universe, and its only source is the desert planet Arrakis. A royal decree awards Arrakis to Duke Leto Atreides and ousts his bitter enemies, the Harkonnens. However, when the Harkonnens violently seize back their fiefdom, it is up to Paul (Kyle MacLachlan), Leto’s son, to lead the Fremen, the natives of Arrakis, in a battle for control of the planet and its spice. Based on Frank Herbert’s epic novel.

Dune is set to star Timothee Chalamet in the lead role of Paul Atreides. He will be joined by Javier Bardem as Stilgar,  Zendaya as Chani, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as “The Beast” Rabban and Charlotte Rampling as the Reverend Mother.
