Great news for DC Comics and its streaming service, DC Universe, today. Yesterday reviews for the first season of Doom Patrol began to release and, so far, the results are great.
After 12 reviews the series currently has a 92% fresh rating on aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The equates to 11 positive reviews and just one negative.

Neither Fraser nor Bomer are physically present in the roles of Robotman or Negative Man, which, on any other show might be too weird to really work, but here it just adds to the overall bizarre vibe and weird nature of the program.

In a most welcome and unexpected surprise, DC Universe’s Doom Patrol scores touchdowns right from the get-go. This is the superhero series to watch in 2019. (10/10)
Doom Patrol is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
The series comes from Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The one-hour drama is written Jeremy Carver (Supernatural, Being Human) and will by executive produced by Carver alongside by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter.
