Late last night rumours began to circulate that Rian Johnson’s planned Star Wars trilogy was being cancelled by the studio. Unsubstantiated reports claimed that following the lacklustre fan response to The Last Jedi and Solo‘s failure at the box office, the new trilogy was to be indefinitely postponed.
Following the news fans began to bombard the director on his social media accounts looking for a comment.
Eventually Johnson responded to a fan confirming that he is still working on the trilogy. Work on the movies began following their formal announcement back in November of 2017.
With the rumour debunked all eyes now turn back to when the first of these movies may arrive in cinemas.
No it isn’t true, I’m still working on the trilogy. With all due respect to the movie bros, who I’m sure are lovely kind bros with good fraternal intentions.
