When we last saw Maggie on The Walking Dead she was disappearing off into the sunset around the time of Andrew Lincoln’s departure.
Actress Lauren Cohan departed the show following a well documented dispute of the pay gap between herself and her male co-stars. Cohan will now star alongside Scott Foley in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier, a globe trotting, spy dramedy.
At the Television Critics Association press tour, Cohan was asked about future plans to reprise the role. It seems the possibility of a Maggie-centric spinoff has been discussed with AMC.
Cohan said to THR “There may have been some conversations, but everything is so early days ambiguous. Me, as much as anybody, we’ll have to see what happens.”
Cohan also addressed her departure, which was rumored to be acrimonious. “I don’t even think that it was bad,” noted Cohan. “It was like, I’ve done the show for a long time. It was a long time to be in any character and sometimes you just get quiet and listen to your inner-guidance and it’s time to multitask.”
The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Amelio, Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, Khary Payton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The show airs on AMC in the states and here on FOX UK.
