Glen Winter to direct STARGIRL pilot for DC Universe

The DC Universe crew are currently hard at work on the upcoming Swamp Thing series. But thoughts are now beginning to turn to their next live-action venture: Stargirl.
Heroic Hollywood is reporting that veteran DC director David Nutter will be behind the camera for the series pilot. Nutter started his DC journey working as a Director of Photography on Smallville. He went on to direct a number of episodes of that show including the first half of “Absolute Justice” which featured Stargirl in a guest role.
Nutter has since helmed episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. Most recently he also directed the Titans episode “Dick Grayson”.
The show stars Brec Bassinger in the title role. Luke Wilson is playing S.T.R.I.P.E., alongside Joel McHale (Starman), Lou Ferrigno Jr. (Hourman), Henry Thomas (Dr. Mid-Nite), and Brian Stapf (Wildcat). Neil Hopkins (Sportsmaster), Joy Osmanski (Tigress), and Nelson Lee (Dragon King) will portray members of the Injustice Society.
Stargirl is expected to start production soon for an August 2019 premiere on the streaming service. DC Universe is available now in North America.
