Earlier this year Buffy the Vampire Slayer said goodbye to Dark Horse and moved to BOOM! Studios. Original creator of the franchise, Joss Whedon, will serve as a consultant on the series which will be written by Jordie Bellaire. Artist Dan Mora will be handling the visuals on the new reboot which BOOM! has been described a reflecting the world “outside your window.”
BOOM! has now given us a first look at Mora’s character designs for the show. Let’s start with a look at the Slayer herself, Buffy:
Rounding out the Scooby Gang we have looks at Giles, Willow, Xander and Anya. Now news yet on characters such as Oz, Tara or even original cast member Cordelia.
The publisher has also unveiled looks at Spike and long term love interest Drusilla. “As you can see, Jordie and Dan have some huge plans for Buffy and the Gang – starting with some pretty major introductions of characters like Anya and…well, I won’t spoil that one quite yet,” said BOOM! Studios Executive Editor Jeanine Schaefer. “But let’s just say by issue #4, it’ll be clear that this is a love letter to the Buffy we all adore and will go in directions that no one ever expected.”
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1, by Jordie Bellaire, Dan Mora and Joss Whedon, is set to be released on Wednesday, January 9 from BOOM! Studios.
