X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX trailer leaks online

There has been plenty of rumours regarding the release of a trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. We’ve also heard sporadic reports of 20th Century Fox showing the trailer at media events across the globe.

One such report came from a cinema convention in Russia. Now footage of that trailer being screened has leaked online.

We won’t post the link to the trailer here. A simple search on Reddit will find you the video. Shot between two seats in the cinema the audio is in Russian and much of the screen is cut off.

What we do get to see substantiates the reports of this being a darker, more mysterious film. There’s plenty of flashbacks to a Young Jean. It seems an incident involving her parents may incite the Phoenix Force within Jean’s mind.

We get to see all our favourite X heroes once more but without the audio there is little context to what happens on screen.

No news yet on when Fox will be releasing this trailer officially.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is being directed by Simon Kinberg. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are confirmed to return to the roles of Charles Xavier, Mystique and Magneto respectively. Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also return.

The film is due for release on February 14, 2019.
