It’s been a trying few hours for Superman fans.
Earlier today THR released an “exclusive” story claiming that fan favourite Henry Cavill would not longer be playing the Man of Steel.
According to the report Warner Bros. was keen on having Cavill appear alongside Zach Levi in Shazam! When a deal could not be brokered to make it happen it seemed to mark the end for Cavill.
Further rumours pointed to a deal being unable to be reached. Others chalked it up to a simple scheduling conflict with Cavill out promoting Mission Impossible: Fallout across the globe.
Regardless the stories all had one conclusion. Henry is out as Superman.
In swoops Dany Garcia (Henry Cavill’s manager) with a quick statement confirming that “the cape is still in his closet.”

As Garcia commented a statement from Warner Bros. arrived shortly after her tweet:
“While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.”
We might not have Man of Steel 2 coming very soon but we can rest easy that Cavill is very much still our Superman!
