It doesn’t seem all that long ago that Sony announced a release date for its reboot of The Crow. The movie was set to star Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Corin Hardy (The Hallow) was set to direct. That release date was October 11th, 2019.
Now news has broken that both Hardy and Momoa have exited the project.
Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures were in talks to exit the project due to financial issues. The studio and Samuel Hadida, whose Davis Films holds the rights to the character, were reportedly unable to compromise on a budget for the long awaited movie.
Momoa confirmed the news in a post to his Instagram.
With no star, no director and possibly no distributor it’s unlike that October 2019 release date will hold. Is The Crow doomed never to be remade?
