Back in early 2016 DC Comics announced it was dropping the price of most of its line to $2.99. This price drop coincided with the launch of the Rebirth branding with some titles moving to twice monthly publication.
Today via comicbook.com we have learned that DC Comics has quietly announced that all of its ongoing titles will be priced at $3.99 for both print and digital copies. The exception to the rule will be for kids titles for DC and their New Age of DC Heroes line which features some of their new characters and teams like The Terrifics, Sideways, Silencer, Damage and Curse of Brimstone.
Given the popularity of the Rebirth line and the number of a-list creatives who have moved to DC Comics this is no surprise. Sustainability has to be a priority in a world where print media continues to decline.
What remains to be seen is whether all the bi-monthly series will continue to publish at this level following the price rise.
Will this change how many titles you pick up each week?
