Marvel Comics has today announced that its whole universe will be receiving a makeover. Later in 2018, roughly May-time, will see the entire line get what they are calling a ‘fresh start’. Earlier this evening the company released the following promotional video for the project:
Very few details have been released so far but we do have some tidbits of info for you:
- Avengers series under the banner of Uncanny Avengers, Secret Avengers and New Avengers will be coming to an end. This is in an effort to streamline the franchise.
- A new Avengers series will bring together a new team featuring Black Panther, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, She Hulk, Ghost Rider, Thor and Captain America.
- The new Avengers line will release 18 books per year. The new flagship title will be written by Jason Aaron whilst Ed McGuinness provides the art. Here’s a look at the cover for issue #1:
- A new Venom series has been announced. It will be written by Donny Cates (Doctor Strange) with artwork by Ryan Stegman.
- Speaking of the new series Stegman says “It’s unlike any foe Eddie, or the Symbiote has ever faced. It’s something that’s incredibly old, and unbelievably powerful with ties to not only the symbiote’s dark past but the Marvel Universe itself. This is a horror story thousands of years in the making.”

Marvel has also unveiled a cast picture which features many of the major players in their universe. Although it doesn’t give away too much we can characters created by Brian Michael Bendis are still front and centre despite his departure from the company.
