After months of teasing the return of Arsenal to ‘Arrow’ has been confirmed! His latest arc in the series will begin with season 6’s fifteenth episodes, currently the series is on hiatus returning in January with its tenth episode. It’s not yet known how many episodes he will appear in however it is confirmed his return will be short lived.
Speaking of his return executive producers Wendy Miracle and Marc Guggenheim said “We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper, Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”
Fans will recall that Harper first appeared in season 2 as a recurring character before going on to become a series regular. His transformation into Arsenal is often listed a highlight of the series six year run by fans. There is no doubt that his return will give the shows ratings a positive bump.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the South China Sea. Oliver returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he created the persona of The Arrow and allied himself with former military man John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, lawyer-turned-vigilante Laurel Lance, billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, and his sister Thea Queen.
After years of denying himself his own life as Oliver Queen in order to be The Arrow, Oliver left Starling City with Felicity and made a home in suburbia. But their newly tranquil lives are upended when an evil new organization, H.I.V.E., takes over the newly-christened Star City. Oliver is forced to don the hood once more but can he keep his aim as The Arrow without losing the life he has fought so hard to get back?
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance. It was recently announced that original series star Katie Cassidy will return as a series regular in season 6 as the Earth-2 Laurel Lance/Black Siren.
Arrow airs on The CW Thursdays at 9/8c. In the UK the show airs on Sky One on Thursdays at 9pm.
