Entertainment Weekly has given us our first idea about the storyline for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. In its latest issue the trade has shown off a new still featuring the Baryonyx, a new dinosaur to feature in the sequel. But they’ve also got a few tidbits about the story to get you excited for tomorrows trailer!
The film will pick up the story several years after the events of 2015’s Jurassic World. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) have hit a rough spot in their relationship.
“Claire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island. She reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening. When you see them at the beginning of this story, you get caught up as to what’s going on… But it’s not what you would necessarily expect.” – Bryce Dallas Howard
Of course this is then followed by an extinction-level event which threatens to end all dinosaur life on Isla Nublar as we know it. More on that when we hear about it!
The sequel to the 2015 soft reboot of the franchise lands in cinemas on June 22, 2018. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return as Owen and Claire and will be joined by Jeff Goldblum who reprises the role of Ian Malcolm from the first two films in the original franchise. B.D. Wong, Toby Jones, James Cromwell and Rafe Spall also star in the film directed by J. A. Bayona.
Fan website Jurassic Outpost has also brought us a look at two new photos from the film!
