A fresh casting scoop as popped up for Captain Marvel through Variety. The trade reports that British actor Jude Law is in talks to join the film as the male lead. The exclusive story reports that Law will take on the role of Doctor Walter Lawson, A.K.A. Mar-Vell who acts as a mentor or sorts to Carol Danvers.
In an updated to the story Variety was able to confirm that Law took the role after Keanu Reeves passed on taking it on. They also confirm that Ben Mendelsohn is on board to play the films villain.
Both Mendelsohn and Law join lead actress Brie Larson who will play Danvers/Captain Marvel. Samuel L. Jackson is tipped to reprise his role as Nick Fury.
