First ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ trailer takes us back to the final frontier

Our first look at the new Star Trek series is finally here! Overnight CBS All Access with partners Netflix unveiled the first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery as well as releasing a teaser poster.
The trailer, which you can view in the player below, gives us proper first looks at the ships, uniforms and alien designs for the series. Although there isn’t a huge amount of plot given away we do get to see a fair amount of action from the series first batch of episodes.
Fans will instantly notice that the series has kept some of the aesthetic from the most recent J.J. Abrams helmed films. Despite it’s bold claim of being set ten years before Kirk the show feels almost more futuristic which wil no doubt upset some fans. Overall there’s a lot to enjoy so we recommend you check it out.
Head down the page for a look at the shows teaser poster alongside a first look image released yesterday by Entertainment Weekly. The photo shows star Sonequa Martin-Green on an alien planet alongside ships captain Michelle Yeoh. There’s some very Original Series tech on show in the photo so keep your eyes peeled!
