TV network ABC has announced its programming schedule for the 2017/18 season setting the launch date for Inhumans. The show will take a Friday night timeslot running from 9pm.
Notably missing from the launch lineup was the recently renewed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which we now understand will be returning at mid season after Inhumans completes its run.
Friday night is typically known as the timeslot of death, where many great genre shows have gone to die after suffering ratings slumps. New shows starting out on Friday nights often tend to start low and drop lower never succeeding to a second series (Dollhouse not withstanding). However ABC has been quick to comment that this season they wish to make Friday nights the go-to night for sci-fi fans so let’s see if this works!
Created by Scott Buck, Marvel’s Inhumans stars Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Sonya Balmores as Auran, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak and Mike Moh as Triton. The series will premiere on September 1, 2017.
